Tasha Cole is a relationship builder who enjoys working with organizations and individuals who can and do advance efforts to improve our5communities, open doors of opportunities and change the status quo.

Tasha Cole currently works as the Vice President of Resource Development for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc (CBCF), one of the nation’s leading nonpartisan, nonprofit public policy organizations based in Washington DC. Under Tasha’s leadership the Foundation has implemented successful programs to attract and re-engage corporate sponsors and partners, diversify its revenue streams and increase the Foundation’s revenue to nearly $11 million four consecutive years in a row.

Tasha began her career as a broadcast journalist. She is a former Emmy Award winning documentary producer and television journalist and the proud recipient of numerous honors, including the Grand Prize in Florida Bar Media Awards and the Women in Communications Rising Star Award.

Her political experiences include working on several defining moments in political history including three presidential campaigns, five political conventions, two statewide ballot initiatives and deputy campaign manager for a statewide Senatorial campaign. Her work and exposure to national politics began as constituency outreach director for the Florida Democratic Party and later working as Florida’s State Council Director for Service Employees International Union. Tasha has translated her political and congressional experience into a valued network of activists, coalition groups, corporate executives, community leaders, newsmakers, and government and elected officials.

Tasha worked on Capitol Hill for nearly nine years serving as Communications Director and Senior Advisor to former Congressman Kendrick Meek and Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Frederica Wilson. As a trusted advisor, Tasha was responsible for the execution of events, meetings, projects and programs to advance the legislative, community, and political priorities of the Congressional District, the Member and the office.

Currently Tasha serves as Co-Chair for the Board of Directors for Running Start, a national organization whose mission and vision is to engage young women in politics. She is also a facilitator for Elect Her, a Running Start program, where she has travelled to college campuses across the country, training more than 300 young college women on campaign strategy, messaging and networking.

Tasha graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Florida A&M University. She is a member of National Association of Professional Women, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and DC/Maryland/Virginia chapter of the Florida A&M University Alumni Association. Tasha was born in Alabama and has lived in various states including Texas, Missouri, Connecticut, Illinois, Colorado, Florida and Washington DC.
