While in high school, I always participated in leadership programs but I never took a position as an officer in any of the organizations I belonged to. After attending Running Start in the summer of 2008, I felt that I was ready to assume more responsibility.  At Running Start, I practiced networking skills which gave me the confidence to approach people and tell them about myself and my ideas.  I now attend Emerson College on two scholarships, the Dean’s Scholarship and a Forensics Scholarship. I am President of my Residence Hall where I am responsible for a budget of over $3,000, and I was elected  Treasurer of “The Class of 2013”. I am a Communications Studies Major, and I just finished my first semester with a 3.75 GPA.

Before attending Running Start it would not have occurred to me to run for office; I was more of the behind the scenes person. To my surprise, I enjoy politics and the opportunity it gives me to make a difference.  Thank you Running Start for pushing me towards new goals!
